The Japanese Ebing Jigging Rig is a versatile and innovative approach to tuna fishing, offering an active way to enhance success while chunking. By using a diamond jig as a weight to get the bait down and adding jigging action to the presentation, it mimics the behavior of injured baitfish, which can be highly attractive to predatory tuna.
The rig itself is designed for strength and durability, made from 304 3/32" stainless steel and equipped with high-quality components. This ensures the rig can withstand the powerful runs of large tuna.
The customizable rigging options add flexibility for anglers, whether they prefer to rig their own setups or opt for pre-rigged solutions. The use of fluorocarbon leaders is also a smart choice, as it provides stealth in clear water, reducing the chances of spooking fish.
Regardless of the species of Tuna you're targeting while chunking this rig will save the day. Normally while chunking your hooked bait is just let out with no further action. With the Ebing a 4oz to 8oz diamond jig with no hook is attached to the swivel sleeve. Attached to the mini swivel is 6ft of 60lb test Fluro-Carbon leader with a baited hook.
Let the rig out to a certain depth and start to jig. Standard baits can be used or small artificials.
The rig is 18" 3/32" 304 stainless. A 220lb test Mini Stainless AFW swivel is attached at each end and a swivel sleeve positioned in the middle.
We have a few ordering options available. Rigs can be purchased with no rigging or rigged with Diamond Jigs, leaders and hooks. Leaders are 6ft of 60lb Fluro-Carbon and Mustad 1975 8/0 hooks.
Rigs are completely fabricated here at Tournament Cable facilities.
