Titanium Spreader Bars

Tournament Cable spreader bars are all made using a high grade pure titanium. Titanium is half the weight and much stronger than stainless steel and has more memory. Will out-last all other bars and is one of the finest spreader bars you will ever troll.

Why titanium? There are several important advantages with a spreader bar made with this light weight material. Because of the light weight, you can position the spreader further back in your spread. Some feel there is an added advantage to get more distance from the props. Also, it has less of a tendency to dig in and submerge or "crab walk" thru the water.

The other important advantage is a Marlin is less likely to through the bar and spit the hook as is often the case with the heavier bars.

Titanium has more flex than stainless steel and more memory. When the bar is moving through the water the wing baits will be moving in and out as well as back and forth in a much more natural action. This is far superior to a rigged straight line motion you get with the heavy stainless bars.

At Tournament Cable we do not tell you at what speed to troll our spreaders as there are too many variables at sea. Boat speed, wind speed and direction, wave height, head sea, following sea, etc. etc. There is also the position from the boat such as short or long rigger, shot gun or flat line. All of these factors will have an effect on what speed you can troll. Just as you troll single baits and lures it all has to look natural in the pattern. You can’t be moving so fast that each time you bow clears a wave your rigs come flying out of the water. Nor can you be trolling so slow that there is no action at all from your baits and lures. Troll at a speed that’s right for the conditions.
