Incorporating the latest in materials technology and remaining ahead of the game in all arenas of the sport, Tournament Cable is pleased to offer a complete line of Dyneema Tow Lines made with 1,900lb test Soft Dyneema. Suppler than Mono for better live action with no line memory, Dyneema is easier to handle and stow than heavy mono or cable, and it won’t coil all over the deck. It’s easy on the hands and easy on the boat, and each line comes with a loop at the cleat-end and an extra heavy duty snap swivel on the teaser end. This stuff is high-strength, and UV protected, so you won’t have fraying cable wires to cut your hands or scratch up your boat. And cared-for Dyneema will last a very, very long time. Hand spliced with attention spent on detail, you don’t want to miss this.
Standard Dyneema Tow Lines come in 25, 50, 75, and 100ft.
But now, we also have custom tow lines designed JUST for center consoles…an amazing Dyneema Teaser line set-up for pulling dredges from a rigger.
In most cases when pulling a Dredge from a stern cleat on a center console, the teaser is in the prop wash, and the tow line can be too close to the outboards. Pulling from this position can also be a problem when the boat is in a turn. To address these problems, we’ve come up with a great alternative set-up: a 50ft or 100ft section of 1,900lb test Dyneema, a pulley with a stainless snap, and a heavy snap swivel.
Connect the pulley with the snap to the near rigger ring, and then set the teaser out. The teaser will then be in clear water and away from the outboards. Then all you have to do is secure the spliced end off to the midship cleat. It really is that simple. The brass ring on the cleat end is to prevent a lost teaser if the tow line were let go of for some reason; the ring will stop at the pulley.
